I’m a content creator, conference producer, and curator with extensive brand experience For the last two decades, I have edited and written extensively under multiple brands and on multiple platforms, including trade book publishing, digital, and newsstand products. On the conference side, I founded a practical effects industry event that ran for three years, and managed day-of-show and recruitment for best-in-class conferences for the internal and external comms industries. I’m a problem solver comfortable with interviewing talent, handling challenging clients, and collaborating at the highest levels. I’ve been responsible for an e-commerce platform serving millions of views. I’ve also ushered over 60 newsstand special issues to print annually, edited features, hired writers for both short- and long-form essays, and worked with high-profile brands like History Channel, National Geographic, Entertainment Weekly, and Rolling Stone. My superpower is organization.
CONstruct: an artist’s practical effects event
Not just a convention, CONstruct is a materials and sculpting expo by today’s experts, planned for tomorrow’s artists. The on-site venue at The Compleat Sculptor provides the best possible environment to hobnob with professional FX artists. The convention has been held for the last six years, with occasional years off. Some of the events that have been held include contest sponsored by Polytek, eighteen different hands-on workshops, and guests from across the globe. Featuring three full days of programming, artists were given the opportunity to attend workshops, panels, and demos by professionals in the TV and movie industries.
That Whisky Thing
As yet another thing, my personal passion for scotch and whisky has evolved into occasional newsletter and writings that document my journey. Articles cover common whisky questions as well as deeper dives into distillery trips (from the US to Scotland and Japan) as well as tasting notes, flights, and more. Currently, I organize bi-monthly tastings for ten to twenty persons, curating whisky flights on themes and mailing bottles across the country.
